Japan 2007/2008
Exhibition "UNESCO-World Heritage in Rhineland-Palatinate" in Japan
From Oktober 2007 to June 2008 the german federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate presented its World Heritage Sites in Japan.
The exhibition consists of 40 large-scale plates that picture the World Heritage Sites of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, the Cathedral of Speyer, the Roman monuments, Cathedral and church of Our Lady at Trier and the rhineland-palatinate part of the former roman borderline named "Limes". The exhibition is a cooperation of the rhineland-palatinate ministries of culture and economy.
In October 2007 the exhibition-tour through Japan started in Tokyo. The project was translated into action in cooperation with the Rhineland Technical Inspectorate (TÜV), the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and the Goethe Institute Japan.
On 14th March the exhibition was reopened in Morioka, capital of the rhineland-palatinate twin region Iwate and was on show there until 30th of March.
Next the exhibition was on show in Nagaoka, twin town of Trier (21th April to 9th May 2008) and then in Ome, twin town of Boppard (24th May to 15th June).
